Part-time E-911 Telecommunications Operator:

General duties include but are not limited to performing a variety of routine clerical,
administrative and technical work in receiving and dispatching routine and emergency
information for law enforcement, fire, and emergency agencies.

The following are required qualifications for the position:

     • Must be able to type a minimum of 25 words per minute.
     • Be available to work holidays, weekends, and nights.
     • High School Diploma or GED.
     • Must obtain SC Criminal Justice Academy certification within
       (6) months of hire.
     • Must successfully complete SLED criminal history background
       check and pre-employment drug screen.

Cherokee County Building Maintenance Assistant:

Responsible for keeping Cherokee County facilities and grounds in a clean and orderly condition
using a working knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical. Knowledge of materials and
tools needed to complete assigned projects.

The following are required qualifications for the position:

     • Must have one year of related experience.
     • Must be able to lift 50 to 100 pounds.
     • Required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
     • Prefer a High School Diploma or GED.
     • Must have a valid drivers license.
     • Must be able to successfully complete a drug screen and background check.

Building Inspection Permit Clerk

Cherokee County is seeking a qualified candidate in the Building Inspection Department
for a Permit Clerk. Duties include but are not limited to performing routine clerical and
administrative work, answering phones, providing customer assistance, cashiering, data
processing and bookkeeping.

Qualifications:

     • Minimum of two years experience in an office environment.
     • Must have or be able to obtain a Permit Technician certificate within one year of hire date.
     • Operate modern office machines and be familiar with office procedures.
     • HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
     • Must be able to successfully complete a drug screen.
